I wanted a basic dress and this fabric was perfect for it. I bought it on the market in Écija (Spain) for 3€ a metre. The pattern came as a gift with the Love Sewing magazine.

I was not interested in colour blocking for this model so I just joined the pattern pieces taking into account subtracting the seam allowances. It was a shame that the pattern did not have shortening lines, bust point, hip point etc. I was also pretty difficult to unfold the tissue paper, it seemed that it was glued.

One of my favourite features of this pattern is the sleeve detail and is was not difficult to make. Just sew the facing, trim the seam allowance, turn and finish the sleeve.

I had some issues with the concealed zip so I will keep practising. Although I have learnt that I have to finish the raw edges before sewing the zip and not the other way round :)

Hasta pronto

See you soon
